In an emergency, call 112.
If you are in immediate danger, are thinking about ending your life, or are worried about someone else’s safety, please call 112 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department straight away. My practice is not an emergency service, and I am not available around the clock.
In Germany, the TelefonSeelsorge is available day and night, free of charge: 0800 111 0 111 or 0800 111 0 222. In other countries, please contact your local crisis line.
A personal crisis can turn everything upside down – a loss, a separation, a sudden change, or a situation that simply feels like too much. In moments like these, it can help to talk to someone who listens calmly and helps you sort your thoughts.
In a crisis support session, we look at what is happening right now, what you need most, and what your next manageable steps could be. The aim is not to solve everything at once, but to help you find a little more stability and orientation. How this feels for you is individual.
I have been accompanying people through grief and crisis since 2008. From around 2010, I volunteered in crisis intervention with the German Red Cross (DRK), and in 2014 I completed my training in emergency pastoral care (crisis intervention). I hold a Master of Science in Social Sciences with a focus on social psychology and work as a psychological counsellor.
Appointments are usually available within a few days – for urgent concerns, often at short notice.
When Crisis Support Can Help
Sometimes life changes in a single moment. Crisis support can be helpful if you are dealing with:
- the sudden loss of a loved one
- an accident or another distressing experience
- a separation or the end of an important relationship
- the loss of your job or your financial security
- a serious illness of someone close to you
- the feeling that, weeks later, you still cannot find your footing again
You do not need to have the right words for what you are going through. It is enough that you feel you could use some support.
How Does a Session Work?
1. Arriving (5–10 min). A short arrival phase in which we focus on what concerns you most and agree on what would help you today.
2. Working on your concern (40–50 min). Depending on your situation, we use suitable methods – for example, calming and stabilising exercises, sorting your thoughts, or looking at decisions and resources.
3. Next steps (5–10 min). We summarise what has become clearer and agree on one to three concrete next steps – and, where helpful, a short exercise to continue at home.
A session lasts 60 minutes and takes place online via Zoom or in person at my practice in Ravda.
FAQs
Is this therapy?
No. Crisis support in my practice is psychological counselling and coaching, not psychotherapy or medical treatment. It can help you through a difficult phase, but it does not replace a doctor, psychotherapist or psychiatric care. If I feel that a different kind of support would be better for you, I will tell you openly and help you find it.
